Pink Tie Design

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PINK TIE DESIGN

A dozen years ago, my life was very different than it was today. I was single, working a full time job at an ad agency in Duluth, Minnesota, and working with people that I loved.

The problem? I worked all the time.

Literally.

I’d usually roll into work at around 8 a.m., come home for some toast for lunch and work on design projects for freelance clients for about an hour, go back to work until about 5 p.m. and then come back home for a quick dinner and work until midnight, or later.

After a few too many late nights (or early mornings) I started to think, “What if?” And once I started thinking that way, the idea was hard to shake and I knew what I had to do.

I had to quit my job. Cut ties with the full time job, 401K, Health Insurance, the whole kit-n-kaboodle and venture out on my own. My back-up plan? McDonalds. Walmart. Or any other minimum-wage paying job.

It took courage, hard work, belief in myself, some prayers and a few tears, but here I am, 12 years later, happily married, with three kids and a dog, and today, my family and I quietly celebrated Pink Tie Design’s 12th Birthday.

Wow. Just Wow.

Thank you to each and every client that has helped me continue to keep the dream of entrepreneurship alive. Thank you for valuing my work. Thank you for your repeat business. Thank you for every referral.

Looking back on all the projects, I hope that the feeling is mutual. That together we build each other’s business and help each other grow.
